Harris County Precinct One Commissioner Rodney Ellis and other officials will host a ribbon-cutting event on April 8 for a new splash pad at El Franco Lee Park.
Precinct One parks and construction officials, along with Harris County engineers and architects, joined contractors for a final walk-through of the 2,778-square-foot splash pad on March 9.
“A splash pad is an excellent addition to the park that already has a spacious playground, nature trails and sports fields,” said Chambers Washington, Precinct One’s parks superintendent.” The water facility will provide children a fun and refreshing way to cool off in the summer months.”
The aquatic-play features include Fill N’ Spill, Water Sprout, Jet Way, Mushroom Maze, Baseball Spin N’ Spray and other fun activities. The splash pad has two covered seating areas – each with two picnic tables.
The splash pad will be open from April to October in the southeast Harris County park at 9400 Hall Road in Houston. The hours will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
