In 1956, local petroleum geologist, Alexander Deussen (1882-1959), donated 309-acres of land on Lake Houston to Harris County. This beautiful space surrounds the South side of Lake Houston and provides several boat launches and a renovated T-Pier for boat docking. Fishing space abounds from pier access as well as shorelines throughout the park. Five playgrounds are spread throughout the park for lots of playtime. The park contains 14 pavilions of various sizes for all kinds of gatherings with family and friends. BBQ grills, picnic tables, restroom access and parking are all part of the features of the pavilions. Reserve one today through the Precinct One Community Portal.
Nature-lovers will love the 4 trailheads that offer beautiful waking and jogging trails to all residents. The park is open most days of the year. Check often for seasonal hour changes.
Deussen Park also has an active Senior Center on-site as well as many public amenities. Learn more about facilities and programs at the Deussen Community Center.
