Dear Friends,
The right to vote in a fair election is a hallowed right in our democracy. Elections affect people’s access to quality health care, an education, a safe environment, a thriving community, and so much more. The strength and success of our democracy depend on every voice being heard and every vote being counted.
Our office has been working with the Harris County Clerk’s office to make sure Harris County is ready for the upcoming primary elections on Tuesday, March 5.
TODAY is the last day to register for the upcoming primary election. We encourage everyone to take a moment today to check your voter registration status.
Go to the Texas Secretary of State My Voter Portal to check your status, or visit HarrisVotes.com for a link to the registration portal and other valuable election resources.
- Voters can update their existing registration online with the Secretary of State. Allowable updates include changes to current residential address or name changes. New registrations cannot be submitted online.
- Voters who need assistance with their voter registration can call the Harris County Voter Registrar’s Office at 713-274-8200.
If you’re already registered and have questions about the upcoming election, the Harris County Clerk’s Office Elections Department is hosting a voter education workshop on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harris County Public Library, North Channel Branch, 15741 Wallisville Road, Houston, 77049. Attendees will learn about the upcoming primary, important dates, vote by mail information, and how to use our voting machines. RSVP here.
Early voting will start Feb. 20 and last through March 1.
The right to vote is the most fundamental freedom in a functioning democracy. Please exercise this right by checking your voter registration and encouraging your friends and family to do the same.
