Low Turnout Alert! Flip the Script, Houston – Vote Early!

27 Nov, 23

Dear Friends,

If you voted in the November election, thank you for being one of fewer than 1 in 5 registered voters in Harris County who made their voice heard. And if you didn’t vote in the general election, don’t worry – you still have a chance to have a say in the future leadership of our city.

Now, through Dec. 5, those registered to vote within the legal boundaries of the City of Houston can vote early in a joint runoff election that will decide the following positions:

  • Mayor of Houston
  • Controller
  • District D, G, and H City Council positions
  • At-Large 1, 2, 3, and 4 City Council positions

More than 40 locations across the county will be open for early voting on the following days:

  • Monday, Nov. 27, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 1, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023: Noon – 7 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 4, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 5, 2023: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Please make a plan to vote in the runoff, and forward this email to a friend, family member, or neighbor and encourage them to seize the opportunity to shape our city’s future.

If you have questions about this process, call the Voter Services Team in the Harris County Clerk’s Elections Department at 713-755-6965. You can also visit HarrisVotes.com to check your registration status, view a sample ballot, and access information about polling locations, voting machines, and other topics.

The holidays are a busy period, but I hope you’ll make time to participate in a process that will decide who our city’s next leaders will be.

Sincerely,

Rodney Ellis
