Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis issued the following statement on International Longshoremen’s Association members returning to work after a tentative agreement with the United States Maritime Alliance:
“While the details of the agreement are still pending, what’s clear is that the International Longshoremen’s Association fought courageously for better wages and working conditions, and their voices were heard.
Their determination reminds us that when working people stand together, they win. I stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in labor and working people everywhere in the fight for better wages and rights on the job."
