PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Safe trails can help connect communities. A wide pedestrian bridge over Sims Bayou is being planned to help connect neighborhoods to the Sims Bayou greenway and a future park and recreation area at the Hill at Sims detention basin. This bridge would be located near Airport and Scott streets.
PROJECT BENEFITS:
A pedestrian bridge over Sims Bayou would:
- Expand opportunities for healthy recreation
- Create a safe pathway for active transportation through Sunnyside
- Connect neighborhoods to recreational opportunities, health care centers, and local businesses.
PROJECT UPDATES:
A pedestrian bridge over Sims Bayou is currently in the construction phase as part of the Hill at Sims Park project.
